Berlin Polar Bears has grabbed the DEL championship after beating Cologne 1-2 in overtime. That win puts Berlin ahead 3-1 in the best-of-five series. Florian Busch got the game-winning goal for Berlin.
Berlin Polar Bears is one win away from retaining the German championship. The Polar Bears won the third game against Cologne Sharks. Three spectacular final minutes ended in a 4-3 win for Berlin.
The final is wide open again in the German league. Cologne edged Berlin 2-1 in front of a home crowd of 18.000 to level the series. It was the twelfth home win in a row for the Sharks.
Cologne and Frankfurt are through to the 2007-08 DEL playoff finals. The Sharks edged Frankfurt by 3-2, while Berlin beat Düsseldorf 3-2. Both series were decided in the final game of the best-of-five series. > meer
